What is Pallantide?
Pallantide is a browser-based writing app for stories told through character dialogue, narration and pictures. Its writing workspace is called Storyteller.
Who is it for?
Pallantide is for fiction writers, dialogue writers and people who want to draft character-led stories on a phone or computer. Readers can explore episodes that writers publish to the Community.
How do I start writing?
Open the writing workspace, create a local profile and start a story. Add characters, write their dialogue and switch between the chat-style editor and plain story text.
Where are my drafts stored?
Unpublished workspace drafts are stored in this browser on this device. They are not automatically synced between devices. Export a backup from Settings before clearing browser data or moving devices.
Do I need an account?
Local writing uses a profile on your device. Sign in with ChatGPT to publish episodes and use Community features such as comments, likes and follows.
Does Pallantide generate stories with AI?
No. The app does not generate AI text or require an AI API key. Its manual AI workflow lets you copy story text to a tool you choose, then review and apply changes yourself.
Can I use pictures?
Yes. Add pictures to stories and characters. New picture files must be 2 MB or smaller. Published pictures are accessible by their media URLs; do not treat them as private file storage.
What makes the writing workflow different?
Pallantide combines a chat-style dialogue editor, character switching, gestures, plain-text story editing and optional episode publishing in one workspace.
Is Pallantide free or paid?
The current app has no checkout or subscription purchase flow. A pricing plan has not been published on this site. No AI API key is required; this is not a promise that hosting or future features will always be free.
Will my story appear in search engines?
Publishing makes an episode available to Community readers. Community stories, episodes and profiles are currently excluded from the site's search sitemap and marked noindex. Search-indexing permission is not currently a separate publishing option.
Who operates Pallantide?
built by @vvrs with love. Pallantide is independently developed and operated. It is not an OpenAI product and does not claim OpenAI endorsement or affiliation. ChatGPT sign-in is a hosted authentication service, not a partnership claim.
How can I contact the operator?
Use the Contact page to send a request to the private operator inbox. No automatic email notification or response-time commitment is configured.
Can Pallantide access my ChatGPT conversations?
This app uses ChatGPT Sites-managed identity sign-in. It reads a Site-specific user identifier, email and optional name, not ChatGPT conversations, memories or your password. The authentication page explains the integration and verification limits.
Does signing out delete my writing?
No. Signing out of Community does not clear the local IndexedDB draft databases. Export a backup before clearing browser data or changing devices.
How can I delete my Community account?
Use Delete Community account in Account settings. Owned publications and account records are removed; comments are erased and marked deleted. Local drafts and your ChatGPT account remain. Backups, caches, logs and stored media objects may need separate handling, as explained in the privacy draft.
